Shogo is a queer Japanese theatre-maker, director and actor.

Began a career as a actor, played male, female and queer roles on over 50 stages, utilizing extensive body language and a collaborative actor toolkit. Credits includes Peter Pan, Your Lie In April and JAPAN 2.5-DIMENSIONAL PLAY Yowamushi Pedal. In the TV and movie, the award-winning TV drama My Beautiful Man and the Special Jury Prize at YDA in Cannes 2019.

As a creator, has served as an assistant choreographer at Sound Horizon and produced the collaboration of reading and comics content Actors Comic, earning recognition from the Performing Arts Fund in Japan.

Directed and produced the original two-hander musical NOW LOADING in 2023, which received widespread positive reviews and was recognized by the Emerging Directors Competition in Japan. Known for deep research—particularly through working-class and queer perspectives—and for crafting nuanced, emotionally resonant productions with a gentle yet firm directing style.

Since moving to London in 2023, immersing the theatre scene while working as an actor represented by NG PERSONAL MANAGEMENT. They was selected by New Earth Performers Academy Plus and Make Theatre With FA, and completed the evening directing course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
